Calorie & Energy Estimates (Educational Use)
Where relevant, Gluco may display estimated energy needs to support general nutrition awareness.
Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)
BMR estimates are based on the Mifflin–St. Jeor equation, a widely used predictive formula for resting energy expenditure:
- Females: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) − (5 × age in years) − 161
- Males: (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) − (5 × age in years) + 5

Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)
Energy expenditure concepts are informed by reviews and meta-analyses on physical activity, metabolism, and long-term weight maintenance.

Body Composition Metrics (Educational Context)
Body Mass Index (BMI)
BMI is referenced as a population-level screening metric, not a diagnostic tool.
